Wheelchair-friendly extension gets planning consent

Thinking about how you'll live in a house when you get older might not be at the top of your list when it comes to planning an extension or a new build home. But we'd argue it should be a major consideration, as it's both sensible for you and could help boost your chances of getting planning permission.

This excellently designed annexe, by CAD Architects, has done just that, gaining planning consent just recently. It was designed with futureproofing in mind, with a layout and discreet features which allow it to become a wheelchair-friendly extension to the main house should this be needed. The annexe includes a sliding wall of glass providing access to a substantial balcony and stunning views over the estuary beyond.
